I just can't believe there is a new show about zombies on AMC. I know that everyone is hooked on vampires right now (The Vampire Diaries for example) and we love science fiction. The list of science fiction shows is to long to even mention...

But when did zombies get popular? Did I miss something? Does Chuck Barney really think that "Zombies, after all, are the new vampires"?

I don't know if I will give the show a chance or not, but having it on Halloween is pretty good marketing. Maybe I'll check it out this one time. But I don't think I can fall in love with zombie characters. Werewolves, ghosts, vampires, aliens, and even demons can have some appeal. Zombies?

So apparently our planet is not as bad off as we think...or we are just now getting around to seeing what's been in front of us the whole time.

Unknown species, as shown on this article on Yahoo, are being discovered every day. Even though we are forcing some species into extinction, we will be able to fill their slots with other, maybe better, species.

That's sarcasm people...

One in eight Americans are on food stamps. Thats a crazy number.

But I'm not surprised. With the way the economy is right now, I think that's the only way for some people to survive. Without it, they could be homeless and feeding their kids Raman noodles.

I'm not trying to be funny. How else are some people going to feed their families. We are not all fortunate enough to have family support. And some of us have disabilities that inhibit what types of jobs we can work. Not me, but I do know many.

I just hope that those who are receiving food stamps now have a plan in place to get out of poverty. Go to school or relocate to a place with jobs. I hope they remember they need to pay if forward.

 The Mayan calendar says that the end of days is December 31, 2012 right? But I guess when they converted to our modern calendar they messed up the numbers. No one knows when the Mayan calendar ends...or so they say...

Is it a conspiracy to try to get everyone to believe that we are not facing the end of the world? So we won't all freak out at the same time...or is it really the end of our existence.

I guess only time will tell ;)
