Travis Barker Skipping Blink-182 Australian Tour Due To Fear Of Flying After Crash - Yahoo! omg!

Travis Barker sustained critical burns and injuries in a plane crash that took the lives of four people nearly five years ago, and the drummer can't bring himself to fly again - even if it means missing an overseas tour with his band.

The 37-year-old musician has announced he will not be present for the Blink-182 tour Down Under as he doesn't have a way to get there without flying.

"I'm sorry to announce I won't be joining Blink-182 on this Australian tour," Travis wrote in a post on his Facebook page late Saturday night. "I still haven't gotten over the horrific events that took place the last time I flew when my plane crashed and 4 people were killed, two being my best friends."

Travis' drum duties will be temporarily taken over by a stand in for the Australian tour.

"I gave the band my blessing to take another drummer if they still wanted to do the tour without me," he wrote.

The father of two said he had looked into traveling to the country by ship, but that it hadn't panned out.

"I hope to come to Australia again some day perhaps by ship if need be. Unfortunately, there wasn't a boat that worked with the schedule this time around," he wrote. "Once again I'm sorry to all the fans."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Travis and the late Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) were the sole survivors of a small plane crash that took the lives of the plane's two pilots, along with Travis' security guard and an assistant in September 2008.
